“No Fundamental Doctrine Affected”
March 2008, Bible Believers’ Bulletin
All unsaved sinners have the ability to alibi for their sins.
- And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
- And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
“Passing the buck” is the oldest game in history, preceding, by far, “the world’s oldest profession.” At the core of human depravity is “the Fig Leaf Factor” (i.e., self-righteousness). The fig tree is the only tree the Lord Jesus ever cursed.
- And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.
So one should not be surprised that every demon-controlled, demon-guided, “good, godly, Conservative scholar” on the NIV committee (and the CEV committee and the NASV committee and the NRSV committee, etc.) had an airtight alibi for making 35,000 to 60,000 changes in the greatest Book that the world has ever seen or ever will see: the Holy Scriptures of the Protestant Reformation (AV 1611).
All lost sinners can “explain” why they did such-and-such. “We always have done it,” “Everybody else does it,” “You gotta make a living,” “You gotta get married,” “A little bit doesn’t hurt,” “My conscience didn’t convict me,” etc., etc. Susan Atkins, who slit Sharon Tate’s belly open with a knife—Sharon was pregnant—said she knew she was doing the “right thing” because it “felt good.” She further stated that she tasted some of her murdered victim’s blood, and no one could do that “unless they really loved someone.” Alibis and excuses are two cents a ton these days.
The Alexandrian Cult’s alibi—see the work by James White (The King James Only Controversy, 1995) for what the Cult believes—for destroying the English text of the Protestant Reformation was that “all of the new versions” (there are 204 of them) “still contain ‘the Fundamental doctrines of Christianity’.” You can still find the “Fundamentals of the Faith” in any of them. This is the alibi for destroying the Holy Bible. It has three flaws which they will not mention:
1. You can find the “Fundamentals” in the Apostles’ Creed, which is not a “Bible.”
2. They will not recommend the New World Translation (JWs) because it “attacks the Deity of Christ,” but the New World Translation gives the exact doctrinal statement on the Deity of Christ in John 1:18 that you will find in the NASV, recommended by Bob Jones University, John Ankerberg, Regent College, Booby Ross, James White, and the Vatican manuscript.
- No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
- No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him.
- No man has seen God at any time; the only-begotten god who is at the Father’s side is the one who has explained Him.
3. You can find the “Fundamentals” in any book on Systematic Theology, and none of them are “Bibles.”
You see, their thinking is sick. They cannot think. When they speak, they are unable to think before they speak; they just start shooting off at the mouth, hoping you will not really hear what they are saying. The alibi that “no single fundamental of the faith” is destroyed or lost in the new versions doesn’t mean anything if you analyze the statement. You can find a dollar bill in a dumpster and a diamond ring in a sewer. What does this mean?
It means that a man who calls a dumpster a “bank” or a man who calls a sewer a “jewelry store” is crippled too high for crutches. He needs to settle down in a rubber room in a Funny Farm. But that is exactly what “good, godly Christian scholars” are telling the Body of Christ, and have been telling them since 1885 (RV).
You can find every “fundamental” of the “Christian faith” in one volume of my work on Theological Studies (1980, 1996). Theological Studies is not a “Bible” any more than a sewer is a jewelry store or a dumpster is a “bank.” You are dealing with Christian potheads (Metzger, White, Bob Jones III, Custer, Ankerberg, Farstad, Hindson, Dobson, Swindoll, Hodges, Willmington, Falwell, James Combs, et al.).
Many years ago, a Bible teacher in Pennsylvania (Paul Freeman) wrote a book called Bible Doctrines Affected by New Modern Versions. James Son of Texas wrote another one just like this to prove that, somewhere in the “new versions,” a slap was taken at every single major truth that a Bible believer was supposed to believe. We sell this at our Bookstore. It is called The New Athenians.
Notice how you can attack a major Bible doctrine without eliminating all of the references that deal with that doctrine. That is, Satan’s “devices” are known to the true Christian.
- Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
He uses a “little leaven” (not a pile of it) to leaven “the whole lump.”
- A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
Any being who is “more subtle than . . . etc.” (Gen. 3) is not going to eradicate any “fundamental” completely.
- ¶ Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
No bushel of rotten apples can be sold with rotten apples on the top of the bushel. Who doesn’t know that but the revision committees of the ASV, RV, RSV, NRSV, NASV, NIV, CEV, and the faculties and staffs of PCC, BJU, BBC, and the seminaries at Dallas, Chicago, Fort Worth, Denver, New Orleans, and Louisville.
Well, here are fifteen good examples of how Bible doctrines are satanically “affected,” without being “destroyed.”
Matthew 5:22. Once you remove “without a cause,” you imply that Jesus Christ was a sinner. He wasn’t, and no depraved “godly” scholar had any business implying it.
- But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
- But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’ is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.
Matthew 6:13. When you remove the ending you have taken the glory from God for bringing in a literal, physical kingdom on this earth (“in earth, as it is in heaven . . .”). You have made “the Lord’s prayer” end with a reference to Satan and sin (“evil,” vs. 13).
- And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
- And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Matthew 19:16–17. The “newer” translations totally erase the reference to the Deity of Christ: “Why callest thou me good?” This is the first “Fundamental of the Faith,” according to all ‘Fundamentalists.”
- ¶ And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
- And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
- Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?”
- “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”
Mark 1:2. By altering “prophets” (Malachi and Isaiah) to Isaiah— who did not author the quotation (vs. 2)—the Deity of Christ was obscured, for the quote is Malachi’s. Malachi said the “me” of Mark 1:2 is Jehovah (Mal. 3:1). Thus, a direct attack on the Deity of Jesus Christ is accomplished by purposely lying about the source of a quotation.
- As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
- ¶ Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.
- as it is written in Isaiah the prophet: “I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way”—
John 3:13. The only reference in the New Testament to Christ’s omnipresence. The key words are missing from all new translations, and none of them can show you this basic, fundamental, doctrinal truth in any other verse in their translations.
- And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
- No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.
Here, King James “Onlyism” is absolute, pure, Scriptural, New Testament truth. Only the AV has the basic, fundamental, doctrinal truth. The CEV, NIV, NASV, ASV, RV, RSV, and NRSV omit the doctrinal statement.
2 Timothy 2:15. Only the King James has a verse in it telling you to study the word of God. No other Bible wants you to study the Bible. The word “study” has been removed from all new Bibles while their authors are saying “one can find every fundamental of the Christian faith” in any new Bible. Do you mean to tell me that the command to study the Bible is not a “fundamental” of the Christian faith? That is exactly what these depraved scoundrels are telling you.
- Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
- Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
Matthew 22:30. What is “of God” doing missing from the text? The angels that are not “of God” fell and will fall again. Do you mean to tell me these blockheads thought the Devil didn’t have any angels?
- For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
- That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
- ¶ And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
- For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
- And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
- At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.
Matthew 26:28. What is the word “new” doing, being absent from the text? Do you mean to tell me Christ’s blood did not institute a New Testament? Do you think this affects a fundamental New Testament truth?
- For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
- This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
Mark 4:24. It is a Bible truth that if you seek truth, you will be given more truth (John 7:17, 3:21). What is the reason for eliminating “and unto you that hear shall more be given”?
- And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.
- If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
- But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
- “Consider carefully what you hear,” he continued. “With the measure you use, it will be measured to you—and even more.
Mark 10:24. Why do the new versions want to teach that you can trust in riches and enter the Kingdom, just as long as you don’t have them (vs. 23)? It is “the love of money” that destroys sinners, not having money. Who on earth could have wanted to erase both of those truths? All the new versions erased 1 Timothy 6:10!
- And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
- And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
- For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
- Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!”
- The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!
Luke 2:33. Why are you led to believe that Joseph was Christ’s real father, thus denying the Virgin Birth? Why take a Bible that states the Virgin Birth (Matt. 1:20) and then denies it (Luke 2:33 and Acts 4:27), when you can get a Bible that confirms it in all three passages?
- But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
- For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,
- And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.
- But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
- Indeed Herod and Pontius Pilate met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed.
- The child’s father and mother marveled at what was said about him.
Luke 4:4. Who is it that doesn’t believe you need “every word of God”? Easy: the dirty, God-forsaken, destructive critics who altered 30,000 to 65,000 words in the Scriptures. But “no fundamental of the faith” is destroyed?
- And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
- Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’”
John 1:18. Two gods? One begotten and the other “unbegotten?” Why, that is Arianism from A.D. 325. No one can “beget” God. The Trinitarian statement for 1,800 years was “One God, manifest in three persons,” not two Gods —one begotten and the other unbegotten! This does not concern a “fundamental of the faith”?
- No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
- No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.
Colossians 1:14. If you omit “through his blood” you teach heresy: “redemption” is not “remission” (see Exod. 34:7; Heb. 9:15; Rom. 3:25).
- In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
- Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.
- ¶ And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
- Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
- in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Now, there are fifteen cases to show you how fundamental Bible doctrines are affected by messing with satanic garbage. True, no fundamental of the faith has been erased or totally destroyed. But why settle for leavened crap when you can get the pure words of God, which cannot be found in the satanic garbage?
- ¶ Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.
All devils and demons believe in the “fundamentals.”
- And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?
- Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
All of the “fundamentals” are found in the “Apostles’ Creed,” recited in the Catholic, Anglican, and Reformed Churches. They are recited weekly by unsaved, sprinkled sinners on their way to Hell. Satan never wasted five seconds questioning “the fundamentals,” when he showed up for the first time in the Scriptures. He questioned the words that God had spoken.
- ¶ Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
You are not “accepted in the beloved” in the new versions.
- To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
- to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.
No unsaved dead have to “stand before God” in the new versions.
- And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
- And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.
You don’t have to love God in the newer versions.
- We love him, because he first loved us.
- We love because he first loved us.
Unsaved false prophets do not suffer forever.
- These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
- These people are springs without water and mists driven by a storm. Blackest darkness is reserved for them.
You don’t get eternal life.
- Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
- In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.
You can have fellowship with carnal, money-grabbing Christians.
- Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
- and constant friction between people of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.
It is all right to be greedy for money.
- Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
- not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.
You get grace and peace from Paul instead of from God.
- ¶ Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Paul, Silas and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace and peace to you.
You can get an inheritance from God without going through Jesus Christ.
- Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
- So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.
You can take the Lord’s Supper unworthily, and it won’t harm you a bit. In this last screwball, fouled-up abomination (NASV), the Body of the Lord Jesus Christ (vs. 29) has been substituted (“If he does not judge the body rightly . . . if we judged ourselves rightly . . . but when we are judged . . .”
- Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
- But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
- For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.
- For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
- For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
- But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
- Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.
- But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
- For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly.
- For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep.
- But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged.
- But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord so that we will not be condemned along with the world.
But “you can still find all of the fundamentals,” right?
Sure, kid. Now vacate the premises. Skedaddle. Who on this earth (saved or lost) would need such “light thrown on the Scriptures” by “older and better manuscripts” unless he was a half-crazy, slobbering Charismatic in a strait jacket?
There is left, on this earth (1997), only one English Bible that contains the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. It is not any English Bible published since 1880.
Why settle for less?
Unless you are either proud or fear man or fear ridicule or have your income (sales, attendance, or enrollment) tied up or are just plain stupid or demon-possessed.
